Final hydrological forecast for the 2024 flood period

The area of the territory of Kazakhstan covered with snow is 3%. Snow cover is mainly preserved in ravines, wooded and mountainous areas of East Kazakhstan, Abay, Zhambyl, Turkestan, Almaty oblasts and Zhetisu region.

According to the synoptic forecast April 20-26 in most of the territory of Kazakhstan will remain unstable weather, in some days forecasted weather without precipitation.

Rain is predicted in the beginning and in the middle of the week in East Kazakhstan region, at the end of the week in the north-west, north, center of Kazakhstan and in Abai region in the night hours possible transition of rain to snow (April 20, 22-24 in East Kazakhstan region, April 25-26 in Kostanay region, Pavlodar region, April 26 in Akmola region, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda region and Abai region).

Heavy rain is forecast for April 23, 25 in Zhambyl oblast, April 26 in Turkestan, Almaty oblasts and Zhetisu oblast.
