RSE "Kazhydromet" plans to create meteorological radar images for the public, its own use and customers. Radars are used in the activities of the Research Sector, and they are an important forecasting tool for meteorologists. It is convenient to know whether it is raining or not, and especially whether the rain has ended.
Radar images help predict precipitation
By observing a series of radar images over several hours, it is possible to estimate where precipitation areas are moving and make brief forecasts. Weather forecasting is not so simple: heavy rains develop, grow and dissolve. A large area of precipitation can be monitored for up to six hours, while summer afternoon showers live for only half an hour to two hours.
