The first month of summer struck with its contrasts. For most of the month, the entire western half of the country, as well as the southern regions of the republic, were under the influence of subtropical air masses, which caused the abnormal heat. On some days, the thermometer columns reached the criteria of a spontaneous hydrometeorological phenomenon (OHS) +40+46°C, (the anomaly was 6-9°), thereby daily records were blocked in a number of weather stations in the southwestern half of the country: at the Uralsk weather station on June 29, the temperature was +41.9°C, which is higher than the maximum value of 2015-+39.8°C, at the Akkuduk weather station on June 29, +44.4°C was recorded, which exceeded the absolute maximum of 2018 - +43.3°C, at the weather station Atyrau on June 28 was +42.8°C, which is higher than the record of 2015. - +39.8°C, the highest air temperature was recorded at the Karatobe weather station (West Kazakhstan region) on June 29, +45.5°C, which is higher than in 1991- +41.2°C.
In the eastern half of the country, on the contrary, as a result of the influence of cold air masses from the regions of the northern seas, cool and unstable weather prevailed, with rains, gusty winds up to 15-28 m/s, and in some areas it reached the criteria of 30-33 m/s (Dostyk weather station of Almaty region, Ulanbel weather station of Zhambyl region). On June 3, a very heavy rain of 53 mm was observed at the Korgalzhyn weather station in the Akmola region (with a monthly norm of 34 mm), hail with a diameter of 22 mm fell at the Zhalanash weather station in the Almaty region, which reached the OHS criterion in size. In the western and southern regions, a dust storm was often observed, with visibility deteriorating to 200-500 m. For example, in the north of Kazakhstan, late frosts of up to 1-2°C were observed in the period of June 5-6, and in the daytime the thermometer columns rose only to the level of +11+19°C.
No records were recorded in Nur-Sultan, but the lowest air temperature in the capital was recorded on June 5 and amounted to +2.9°C, the absolute minimum for this day is -1.5°C (which was recorded in 1971), and the highest air temperature was recorded on June 17, 2021 and was +34.2°C, the absolute maximum for this day is +37.6°C (which was recorded in 1988).
Precipitation for the month fell 21.4 mm (58% of the norm), with a norm for the month of 37 mm.
