Published 02.09.2021 A contract was signed between RSE "Kazhydromet" and "RGM-consulting" LLP for the commissioning of Doppler meteorological radars( DMRL).
To date, specialists of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan, together with representatives of the American company Enterprise Electronic Corporation, are working on the installation, commissioning and commissioning of the DMRL.
On August 31 of this year, work on the installation of radars was completed in Taldykorgan, and work on commissioning and commissioning is being carried out.
In Torgay, Kostanay region, work on the installation of the second radar is being completed. After that, it is planned to start-up and put it into operation.
Meteorological radars represent the technology of sciencasting — short-term hyperlocal precipitation forecast. In synthesis with data from traditional weather stations, radar data fills in the forecasting gaps and allows you to issue a 100% accurate precipitation forecast for a short period of time – three or more hours with a sharp change in the weather.
DMRL assesses the magnitude and position of precipitation zones, as well as the rate of precipitation and the average size of raindrops, which allows you to accurately judge the expected change in the weather. With the help of such equipment, there is an instant detection of dangerous weather phenomena, such as thunderstorms, powerful cumulus clouds, hail formation, zones of intense precipitation, zones of turbulence. These are very popular forecasts on the territory of our country, where a sharply continental climate mainly prevails and frequent weather changes are observed.
Within the framework of this project, similar DMRLS will also be installed in the cities of Zhezkazgan, Karaganda region and Shalkar, Aktobe region. At the moment, preparatory work is underway there.
