Brief agrometeorological review for the third decade of September 2021

IconPublished 05.10.2021

In the third decade of September, heavy precipitation was still observed in places on the predominant territory of the main grain-growing zone of Kazakhstan, which was not favorable for the completion of the harvesting campaign. An increase in wind over 15 m/s in the north, west and in the center of the country for 1-4 days could lead to the lodging of tall crops of grain crops in uncollected areas and crop loss. The observed frosts up to minus 2-6 ° C (in some places up to minus 9 ° C) at night in the predominant territory of the country were not dangerous for ripe agricultural crops.
Harvesting has been completed in North Kazakhstan, Akmola, West Kazakhstan and Zhambyl regions, in other grain-growing regions it is being completed.
The condition of heat-loving crops (corn, rice, sugar beet, soybeans, cotton) is good. Corn harvesting has started in the vicinity of the Shelek station in Almaty region and Shymkent station in Turkestan region. At the observed rice plots in the vicinity of the Ushtobe stations of the Almaty region, harvesting operations began at the end of the decade. In the vicinity of the Sarykemir agropost of the Bayzak district and the Assa station of the Zhambyl district of the Zhambyl region, the phase of "row spacing closure" - "yellowing of leaves" was noted on beet crops. The "yellowing of leaves" phase is observed on beet crops in the vicinity of the Kyzyltu agropost and Taldykorgan stations of the Almaty region.
