Radar data combined with information from the ground observation network of RSE "Kazhydromet" provides an accurate weather forecast for a period from one hour to a day and warns the population in advance of impending storms and a sharp change in weather. And also allows you to adjust longer forecasts for three days and 7 days.
DMRLS use the principle of continuous scanning within a radius of up to 200 km. The microwave radiation of radars does not affect the vital activity of the population, does not interfere with the operation of devices, since scanning is carried out at an altitude of 15 meters.
This year, Kazhydromet RSE will install four DMRs in the following cities of Kazakhstan: Zhezkazgan, Karaganda region, Shalkar, Aktobe region, Taldykorgan, Almaty region, Torgai, Kostanay region. In 2022, it is planned to install another radar in Balkhash, Karaganda region.
