Published 23.12.2021 The President heard a report on the main results of the Ministry's activities for the current year and development prospects, as well as on the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State in the framework of the Messages.
Serikkali Brekeshev reported to the Head of State on the measures taken to improve the environmental situation in the country, as well as plans for the development of the water industry. Within the framework of the National project "Zhasyl Kazakhstan", 9 reservoirs will be built in 6 regions with a total volume of 1.7 billion cubic meters by 2025. Measures are envisaged to improve water resources management and prevent water scarcity. In this context, it is planned to strengthen the activities of the Water Management Committee, territorial basin inspections.
Special attention was paid to the development of the geological industry. According to the Minister, work is underway to activate the state geological study of the subsoil. It is planned to study the subsoil on an area of about 684 km2. A National Geological Survey will be established.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also told about the implementation of his instructions on large-scale landscaping of the country. According to Serikkali Brekeshev, 130 million trees have been planted this year on an area of 62 thousand hectares, work in this direction continues.
