December 2021 was warm in practice throughout the Republic, in the south-western half even comfortable temperatures were observed in spring. The reason for this weather was the frequent removal of warm air masses from the regions of Iran and Central Asia. In the surface layer, with multiple passage of atmospheric frontal sections associated with the southern and northwestern cyclones, an unstable weather pattern was observed. In most parts of the republic, mainly in the second half of the month, there was snow with a blizzard, heavy precipitation fell at times. For example, on December 22, 23 mm fell at the Kushmurun weather station (Kostanay region) (with a norm of 19 mm per month), at the end of the month in the west of the country - up to 22 mm. In the southern half of the country, precipitation was in the form of rain and sleet, heavy precipitation was observed at the end of the first decade in the mountainous and foothill areas of the southeast, up to 18 mm in the east, 25 mm fell in the middle of the month in the Turkestan region, and fogs and icy phenomena were also observed. So at the beginning of the month, daytime air temperatures rose in the western regions to +6 ° C, in the southwestern and southern regions to +12+25.7 °C. On December 2, +25.7 °C was recorded at the Shymkent weather station (Turkestan region), which became a record indicator, the last time the maximum air temperature was observed on December 24 (+25.4 °C) in 1987, there were also record figures in the Mangystau region at the Akkuduk weather station on December 1, the air temperature rose to +22.6 ° C, the last time the absolute maximum was observed on December 16 (+22.0 ° C) in 1981. In the northern and eastern regions during the day, the air temperature rose to +2 +5 ° C, in the south-east of the country to +13 ° C. However, at the end of the first decade and in the third decade of the month, mainly in the northern half of the republic, with the invasion of a cold anticyclone, the air temperatures at night and during the day dropped significantly: at night to -22-32 ° C, during the day to -17-25 ° C.
Thus, the air temperature in practice throughout the territory of Kazakhstan was above the norm by 1-6 °, only in the extreme east and south-east of the country near the climatic norm.
The amount of precipitation was about and less than normal in most of the republic, 1.3-2.9 times more than normal in most of West Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, East Kazakhstan, in the north and south of Kostanay, in the north of Almaty, in the south, center and east of Karaganda and in some areas of Atyrau, Kyzylorda regions.
