Intense thaws that have passed from 1 to 7 days in the southern regions could affect the winter hardiness of poorly developed winter wheat crops. The precipitation has somewhat improved the formation of moisture reserves in the soil, the formation of snow cover up to 15 cm high, will favorably affect the conditions of overwintering winter crops with a decrease in air temperature.
In the West Kazakhstan region, in the areas of winter grain crops cultivation, the snow cover height reaches from 27 to 29 cm, which satisfactorily affects the passage of winter crops overwintering.
The minimum soil temperature at the depth of the tillering node of winter wheat in the south and south-east of the country ranged from minus 1 ... 6C.
