Temperature records and heavy rains in Kazakhstan in October 2022

October 2022 in most of the territory of Kazakhstan began with a wave of cold, and at the beginning of the third decade it surprised with a wave of heat, ended with a record amount of precipitation.

At the beginning of the third decade, on October 21-22, temperature records were also observed, but daytime highs were already blocked, which was due to the removal of warm air masses from the east of the Mediterranean Sea. For example, on October 21, the maximum air temperature of +23.6 °C was recorded at the Ayakkum MS (Aktobe region), the record of 1974 was broken (+22.0 °C), the absolute maximum was +24.8 °C at the Shirik-Rabat MS (Kyzylorda region), thus the record of 1973 was updated (+24.0On October 22, the highest air temperature reached +28.7 °C at Shymkent MS, surpassing the record of 1962 (+27.2 °C), at Taraz MS it was +30 °C at all, thus the record of 1973 (+26.0 °C) was blocked.
In the first and second decades of October, precipitation fell less than normal in most of the country, but in the third decade there was a record amount of precipitation 1.5 - 2 monthly norm, which was due to the passage of a series of cyclones and the aggravation of atmospheric fronts on the territory of the republic. Heavy rains were observed: on October 26, 20 mm fell on MS Arys (Turkestan region), with a monthly norm of 17 mm, on MS Kazygurt - 34 mm, with a norm of 24 mm, on MS Kozhakhmetov 40 mm of precipitation fell with a monthly norm of 24 mm, on MS Uyuk (Zhambyl region) - 23.5 mm with a norm of 13 mm for the month, on October 27, 36 mm of precipitation fell on Fort Shevchenko MS (Mangystau region), the norm is 10 mm, on October 28, on Kyzan MS - 20 mm - the norm is 11 mm, on Aktau MS - 15 mm fell, with a norm of 13 mm for the month.
 In Astana, the lowest air temperature of -6.3° was recorded on October 29, the highest air temperature of +22.1 °C was recorded on October 7. The average monthly air temperature in October was +6.1°C, with a monthly norm of +5.0 °C. The deviation from the norm was +1.1 °. The norm of the amount of precipitation in October: 26 mm, precipitation fell 17 mm. This amount is 64% of the norm.
