On November 29, 2022, the presentation of the first WMO report on the state of global water resources in 2021 took place at the headquarters of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in Geneva. The report is intended to collect the most important hydrological information about changes in the aquatic environment. In the future, WMO plans to publish this report annually. The document is useful for the operational management of water resources, the development of strategies and actions to mitigate the effects of climate change and adaptation to them. Familiarization with the report and presentation was carried out online for the hydrometeorological services of the countries that are members of the WMO.
The annual report on the state of the world's water resources will help to quantify the impact of environmental changes and anthropogenic activities on the hydrological situation. It gives an idea of the change in current conditions compared to historical hydrological data.
