Advisory weather forecast for the Republic of Kazakhstan for January 2023

In the first decade of January, Kazakhstan is expected to be affected by intense Atlantic and Southern cyclones, which will cause unstable weather patterns. Snowfall with blizzard is forecast in the northern half of the republic, precipitation (rain, sleet) is forecast in the southern half of the country, heavy precipitation is possible at times in the south and east of Kazakhstan. Fogs and icy phenomena are not excluded in the southwestern half of the country. With active cyclones, winds of 15-20 m/s are expected to increase in most parts of Kazakhstan, at times with gusts of 23-28 m/s.
In most parts of the republic, the air temperature is predicted to fluctuate at night from -15-25 ° C to -3-12 ° C, during the day from -7-15 ° C to 0,-8 ° C; in the south and south-east of the country - at night from -5-15 ° C to -5 +2°C, day from 0,-8°C to +1+8 °C.
In the western regions, a gradual decrease in air temperature is expected at night from -5+5 ° C to -15-25 ° C, during the day from -3+8 ° C to -10-20 ° C. By the end of the first decade of January, with the north-western anticyclone, a decrease in the temperature background is expected in most of Kazakhstan at night to -20-30 ° C, in the afternoon to -10-18 ° C, in the southwest, south, south-east of the country - at night to -10-20 ° C, in the afternoon to -5-15°C.  
According to the advisory forecast, in the second and third decades of January 2023, a frequent change of weather conditions is expected in most of Kazakhstan, frosty days will be replaced by warm ones, accompanied by snowfalls, blizzards and gusty winds.
As a result of the release of southern cyclones, several most intense heat waves are predicted when the air temperature will rise: in the northern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the afternoon to -5 +2 ° C, in the southern half and in the south-west of the country to +2+12 ° C.
And with the north-western incursions of the anticyclone, several intense cold waves are predicted, the air temperature will drop these days: in the northern half and in the center of the Republic of Kazakhstan at night to -25-35 ° C, in the afternoon to -15-25 ° C, in the southern half and in the south-west of the republic at night to -12-22°C, during the day up to -3-15 °C.
