On January 24, a joint flyby was carried out with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Esil Basin Inspection and the RSE "Kazhydromet". During the flyby, a visual inspection of the state of the snow cover of the Yesil River basins (up to Astana) and Moyildy was carried out. Along the route, the Astana reservoir, the Yesil reservoir and the reservoir of the hydroelectric unit No. 8 were also visually inspected.
As the flyby showed, the degree of snow coverage on the territory is 100%. In the upper reaches of the Yesil River basin, there is a large height of snow cover in places. The reservoirs are fully frozen.
At the time of the flyby, the state of snow cover in the basins of the Yesil River (up to the Astana reservoir) and Moyildy is similar to 2022, which is also confirmed by the results of snow-measuring surveys for January 20, 2023.
