On February 9-10, 2023, with the support of the project "European Union – Central Asia: Cooperation in the field of water, environment and climate change" (WECOOP), a seminar on environmental quality management in the European Union – basic principles was held in Astana.
The first day of the seminar was devoted to the topic of air quality standards and management in the EU. The report was delivered by the head of the WECOOP project implementation group Valts Vilnitis and Aiga Kala, a leading WECOOP expert on environmental management and air quality.
The second day – the issues of water and soil quality were fully discussed by Lucia Curcite, WECOOP's leading expert on environmental quality standards, familiarized the participants with the main areas of work in this area.
The organizers of the seminar emphasized that the main advantages of their course are that the system and principles of environmental protection are the long–term experience of all participating countries based on the latest scientific research (including WHO recommendations).
