Weekly hydrological forecast for the period from March 18 to 24, 2023

The area of the territory of Kazakhstan covered with snow calculated by RSE "Kazhydromet" for the period of 9.03-16.03.2023, according to NASA satellite images, decreased from 53% to 39%.
According to the weekly synoptic forecast for March 18-24, 2023: on March 18-19 in the north, east, center, during the period in the south, southeast of Kazakhstan, with the passage of frontal sections, precipitation (rain, snow) is predicted, in the southern half of the country - rain. Heavy precipitation (rain, snow) is expected at night on March 19 in the mountainous regions of Almaty region and Zhetisu region, and therefore, the formation of slope runoff is expected in the above regions. On March 22-24, the hollow of the northern cyclone will shift to the territory of the northern regions, from which precipitation (rain, snow) is expected.  
From March 21 in Ulytau, Pavlodar, from March 22 in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Abai and East Kazakhstan regions, a gradual increase in daytime temperatures to 3-13 degrees Celsius is expected.
