During the holidays, residents of the northern and central regions of Kazakhstan observed blue smoke. Presumably, this smoke comes from a fire that occurred in Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan region and the border regions of the Russian Federation, south of western Siberia.
According to the observation network for atmospheric air monitoring of RSE "Kazhydromet" from 00:00 to 12:00 on May 10, 2023 in Petropavlovsk, Kostanay, Rudny, Lisakovsk, Zhitikara, Arkalyk, Karabalyk, Kokshetau, Stepnogorsk, Atbasar, Shchuchinsk, Aksu (Akmola region), Ekibastuz, Aksu (Pavlodar region) no cases of exceeding the MPC were recorded.
127 cases of exceeding the MPC were recorded in Astana:
1) suspended particles PM-2.5: 31 cases of exceeding from 2.4 MPC to 2.6 MPC;
2) suspended particles RM-10: 31 cases of excess from 1.3 MPC to 1.4 MPC;
3) hydrogen sulfide: 38 cases of excess from 1.0 MPC to 1.2 MPC;
4) Ozone: 27 cases of excess from 1.0 MPC to 1.2 MPC.
In Pavlodar, 1 case of exceeding the MPC was recorded:
1) suspended particles PM-2.5: 1 case of exceeding up to 1.0 MPC.
In the village of Burabay, 25 cases of exceeding the MPC were recorded:
1) suspended particles RM-2,5: 18 cases of exceeding from 1.1 MPC to 2.2 MPC;
2) suspended particles RM-10: 7 cases of excess from 1.0 MPC to 1.2 MPC;
According to the weather forecast, in the next three days, the Southern cyclone will bring rains with thunderstorms to most of Kazakhstan and wind strengthening is predicted. Heavy rains are expected on May 11-12 in the west, May 12-13 in the northwest, north, May 13 in the center and east of the country. Wind strengthening is expected in the republic. This will contribute to the dispersion of polluting particles and will favorably affect the quality of atmospheric air.
