Kazakhstan spoke at the Second Meteorological Forum of the Turkic World

On November 15, 2023, the Second Meteorological Forum of the Turkic World was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was held in a hybrid format, attended by the National Hydrometeorological Services of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The purpose of this forum is expanded cooperation between the Weather Services of the Turkic World.
The beginning of the forum was marked by welcoming speeches by the heads of the Ministries of Ecology and Environment of the participating countries. Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Nysanbayev in his online speech noted that in the field of international cooperation and data exchange, the participating countries of the Turkic Forum adhere to high standards and principles in creating an effective Early Warning System focused on the needs of people through regional cooperation.
The second part of the event was entirely devoted to constructive issues and discussion of current tasks. In her report, Director General of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan Danara Alimbayeva briefly focused on the international activities of Kazhydromet and emphasized the importance of further cooperation of the forum participants in several key areas. Such as increasing the volume of international data exchange for use in global and regional models of numerical weather forecasting. Such cooperation contributes to improving the quality of information products and improving the effectiveness of forecasting, D.Alimbayeva stressed.
Following the forum, the participants expressed their desire to intensify efforts to create a Meteorological Union of the Turkic World (MUTW) within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States. We identified priority tasks and directions for the development of joint efforts aimed at the development and improvement of the Early Warning System.
