On November 13-15, 2023, the International FengYun Satellite User Conference 2023 (FYSUC-2023) was held in Xiamen, China. The event was organized by the National Satellite Meteorological Center of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA). The goal of FYSUC-2023 is to create a platform for international users of FENGYUN satellite information. The main users of the data are Weather Services, but it is also used in various fields to predict and mitigate the effects of hazardous weather, water and climate events. Representative of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan Saule Smagulova made a presentation “Review of the use of FENGYUN satellite information in Kazakhstan”, where she elaborated on the capabilities and application of products of the China Meteorological Administration in various fields. In 2019, the CMA and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) initiated the first such FENGYUN satellite user conference. This event attracted experts from more than 30 countries, satellite agencies and international organizations. The second FYSUC took place online in 2021 and featured 22 papers from 10 countries. FYSUC serves as a valuable mechanism for fostering dialogue and enhancing collaboration between space agencies and user communities.
