Kazhydromet employee defended her thesis on the topic of wind waves in the Caspian Sea

On December 8, 2023, the defense of a doctoral dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Ph.D. in the educational program "Hydrology" took place at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Doctoral student, head of the Department of Hydrometeorological Research of the Caspian Sea RSE "Kazhydromet" Aizat Eltai defended her thesis on the topic: "Investigation of wind waves in the Caspian Sea based on numerical modeling."
The dissertation work was performed at the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The official reviewers were Sadvakasova S.R. – PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography, Faculty of Natural Sciences of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Aldiyarova A.E. – PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Water Resources and Land Reclamation of the Kazakh National Research University. Scientific consultants: Bjorn Klove, Professor at the University of Oulu Finland and K.T. Narbayeva. – PhD, Senior Lecturer, Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
