Preliminary assessment of flood-prone areas of the Karaganda region

Since February 19, 2024, specialists of the branch of RSE "Kazhydromet" in the Karaganda region and the Ulytau region, together with the Department of Emergency Situations of the Karaganda region, have carried out planned field route snow measuring surveys.
The snow is unevenly distributed throughout the territory, the average snow height is from 6 to 49 cm. There is an ice crust up to a maximum of 34 mm. The water supply in the snow cover ranged from 19 to 127 mm.
To date, the process of snow accumulation continues.
