Kazhydromet has clarified the drought forecast for August

According to the final calculations of the SIO, in August 2024, atmospheric humidification in Kazakhstan is expected to be moderately humid in certain areas in the north, northwest and east of the republic, dry conditions are expected in certain areas of Kostanay, Almaty, Zhambyl and Kyzylorda regions, where there is a shortage of precipitation during the growing season.
Moderately humid in August is expected:
In most of the North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Akmola and Pavlodar regions;
in Aitekebi, Kargaly, Mugalzhar and Khromtau districts of Aktobe region;
in Katon-Karagai and Kurshim districts of East Kazakhstan region;
Moderately arid conditions:
in the southern part of Balkhash district and in the northern part of Zhambyl district of Almaty region;
in Moyinkum and Talas districts of Zhambyl region;
in the Karmakshi district of the Kyzylorda region.
In the rest of the country, humidification conditions are expected to be close to normal for this month.
