Advisory seasonal weather forecast for Kazakhstan for November 2024 - March 2025

November is the month of pre-winter. A frequent change of warm and frosty days is predicted, with precipitation in the form of snow, in the southwestern and southern regions – rain with snow. Gusty winds, with snowstorms, ice and fog are expected during the month.
Winter-like frosty weather is forecast in the second half of the month. With the invasion of cold air masses, the thermometer columns will drop on the coldest days:
in the north, in the center and east of the republic at night to -15-24 ° C, in the daytime to -7-12 ° C;
in the west and in the southern half of the country, up to -3-15 °C at night, up to -7 °C during the day.
Instead of cold days, with the removal of warm air masses from Central Asia and the Mediterranean Sea, it will warm up during the day:
in most parts of the republic up to +3+8 °C;
in the southern half up to +8+15°C.     
In general, the air temperature in November is expected to be near the norm in most of the republic (the norms are given in the appendix), above the norm by 1° in the far west, below the norm by 1° in the mountainous and foothill regions of the south, south-east of the country (Turkestan, Zhetisu region, East Kazakhstan, Abai region, in the south of Zhambyl and Almaty regions).
Precipitation in November is forecast to be about normal in most of the territory of Kazakhstan, more than normal in the northwestern and northeastern half (in West Kazakhstan, Pavlodar regions, in the northwest of Atyrau and Aktobe regions, in the east of North Kazakhstan, Akmola regions, in the far north of East Kazakhstan and the region Abai), less than the norm in the southern regions of the country (in the southern half of the country and in the extreme south of Karaganda and Ulytau region).
According to the advisory forecast, in winter the temperature regime is predicted within the climatic norm, with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with cessation of precipitation and abnormally low temperature background are not excluded (in the northern, central and eastern regions at night 30-45 degrees below zero, in the west and south of the country 25-35 degrees below zero).
 In the first two months of winter in December and January in most of Kazakhstan, the air temperature is expected to be about normal, only in January 1 ° C above normal is expected in the west, north-west of the country (in West Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Mangystau, most of Aktobe, north-west of Kostanay region).
The amount of precipitation in December is predicted:
more than normal in most of the republic;
about the norm is in West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Kyzylorda, Ulytau region, in most of Turkestan, in the north of Atyrau, in the south of Kostanay, Akmola, in the northwest of Karaganda and Zhambyl regions;
less than the norm is in Mangystau, in most of Atyrau, in the extreme southwest of Aktobe region.
The amount of precipitation in January is expected
to be about normal in most of the republic;
more than the norm is in North Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, in most parts of Akmola, Pavlodar, in the northeast of Kostanay, in the southwest of Aktobe, in the western half of the Kyzylorda region;
less than the norm is in most of the West Kazakhstan, Atyrau and Mangystau regions.
In February, in most parts of the republic, the air temperature is forecast to be above normal by 1 °, near normal in the northern regions of the country. With active cyclones, precipitation will exceed the norm in most regions of the country, precipitation is predicted within the climatic norm in the southwestern half of the republic.
 March is a transitional period between winter and spring, after warm days frosts and snowfalls may return.
           According to the preliminary forecast, in March the temperature is expected to be above normal by 1 ° in most of the country, about normal in the southeastern half of the republic.
 Precipitation in March is expected to be higher than normal in most of the republic, about normal – in Kyzylorda, Ulytau, Karaganda, most of Aktobe, Turkestan, Zhambyl, in the south Atyrau, Kostanay, Akmola, in the south-west of the Abai region, in the north Mangystau, Almaty, in the north-west of the Zhetisu region, less than the norm – in most of the Mangystau region.
