Kazhydromet took part in a joint meeting of the Steering Committee on Risk Assessment of Rapidly Developing Floods

From November 4-7, a seminar on the study of the "National Capacity Assessment Tool" (NCAT), joint meetings of the Steering Committee of the "Flood Management System in the Central Asian Region" (CARFFGS) and the "Pakistan-Afghanistan Flood Management System" (PARFFGS) were held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Representatives of National Hydrometeorological Services and specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Central Asian countries took part in the events.
The purpose of the events is to review and approve the NCAT report, demonstrate the use of Flash Flood Management System (FFGS) products and its improvements, provide feedback on the operational use of the system in the region, as well as discuss future goals, develop cooperation between CARFFGS and PARFFGS.
Specialists of Kazhydromet RSE, which is the FFCS regional center in Central Asia, reported on the work done by the information and diagnostic system to assess the risks of rapidly developing floods in Central Asia.
As a result of the meetings, a number of recommendations were adopted and proposals for improving joint activities from the participating countries were collected.
