According to the advisory forecast, in December, most of Kazakhstan is expected to be affected by frequent cyclonic activity, which is usually accompanied by snowfalls, blizzards and gusty winds, precipitation is forecast in the southern half of the country in the form of rain and sleet, snowfall is possible in mountainous areas. Icy phenomena and fogs will often be observed in the west and south of the country.
Days when north-western and northern anticyclones will cause a significant decrease in air temperature are not excluded.
During December, there will often be fluctuations in air temperature, the so-called "temperature swings":
in the northern half of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the first half of the month, the air temperature is expected to fluctuate at night from -18-23 ° C to -7-12°C, during the day -4+1° C to -8-13 °C. In the second half of December, the air temperature is predicted to drop at night to -25-37 ° C, in the afternoon to -15-25 ° C, on some days of the third decade, frosts will "recede".
In the south-west, south, and south-east of the republic, the air temperature is expected to fluctuate at night from -10-18 °C to -5°C, in the daytime from -5°C to +3+12°C. In the third decade of December, on some days, frosts can increase at night to - 15-22 ° C, during the day to -5-13 ° C.
In the first two months of winter in December and January in most of Kazakhstan, the air temperature is expected to be near the climatic norm.
In February, in most parts of the republic, the air temperature is forecast to be above normal by 1°.
In general, in the winter of 2024-2025, the temperature regime is expected to be within the climatic norm, with precipitation exceeding the long-term norm. However, periods with the cessation of precipitation and abnormally low air temperatures are not excluded.
