The Second Climate Forum of the Third Pole was held

On November 28-29, 2024, Kazhydromet specialists took part in the online session of the Second Third Pole Climate Forum (TPCF2), organized by the Third Pole Regional Climate Center (TPRCC).
The Forum is aimed at developing cooperation, improving climate research, monitoring and early warning systems for the Third Pole region, including the Himalayas, the Tibetan Plateau and the Karakoram. The participants discussed the current state of the climate, key climate events, verification of seasonal forecasts and climate action strategies.
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan participated in the event:
• Gulshat Aktayeva, a leading researcher at the UKI SIC,
• Tursyn Tillakarim, head of the Management Department of the NIC.
Gulshat Aktayeva presented the report "Modern climatic conditions and national forecast in Kazakhstan", in which she highlighted climate change in the country, the results of forecasting for the summer season of 2024 and the advisory forecast for the winter of 2024/2025.
The Forum has become an important platform for discussing climate challenges and strengthening international cooperation in the field of climate research.
