According to the advisory forecast, snow, blizzard and gusty winds are expected in December in most of Kazakhstan, precipitation is predicted in the form of rain and sleet in the southern half of the country, snowfall is possible in mountainous and foothill areas. Icy phenomena and fogs will often be observed in the west and south of the country.
The temperature background in the first decade is distributed as follows:
in the north, in the center and east of the republic, fluctuations are predicted at night from -10-18 °C to -3-10 °C, in the daytime from 0,-8 ° C to -3+5 °C;
in the south and south-east of the republic, fluctuations are predicted at night from -5+5 °C to -1-8 °C, in mountainous areas of the south-east of the country - 10-15 ° C, in the daytime from -5+5 °C to +5+12 ° C;
in the west of the country, the main background of air temperature at night is assumed to be 1-8°C, on the coast of the Caspian Sea +3°C, during the day +1+8 °C. At the end of the decade, the air temperature is predicted to drop to -5+3 °C in the afternoon.
Days when north-western and northern anticyclones will cause a significant decrease in air temperature are not excluded.
During the second and third decades of December, there will often be fluctuations in air temperature, the so-called "temperature swings":
in the northern half of the country at night from -18-23 ° C to -7-12 °C, during the day from -4+1 ° C to -8-13 ° C. On some days in the second half of December, a low background air temperature is predicted at night to -25-35 °C, in the afternoon to -10-20 °C.
In the south-west, south, south-east of the republic, the air temperature is expected to fluctuate at night from -7-18 °C to -5°C, during the day from -5°C to +3+12°C. In the third decade of December, on some days, frosts can increase at night to - 15-22 ° C, during the day to -5-13 ° C.
In general, in December, the temperature background throughout the country is expected to be near the climatic norm, and the amount of precipitation in most of the country is more than normal (long–term norms are shown in the table).
