In 2025, the branch of RSE Kazhydromet in the Karaganda and Ulytau regions expanded the network of observations of water bodies, opening three new hydrological posts. These posts will become operational in 2026.
Two of them were equipped with the support of the Akimat of the Karaganda region. As part of the implementation of the engineering work plan, funds have been allocated from the local budget for the purchase of modern instruments and equipment necessary for conducting hydrological observations on rivers. The use of purchased devices and equipment allows you to obtain reliable information about the state of water bodies.
"The development of the hydrological observation network is of great importance for the region. The new posts will ensure timely receipt of information about the hydrological situation, which is especially important during the flood period and to prevent possible risks to the public," experts at the Kazhydromet branch say.
All the work on the opening and equipping of the hydraulic posts was carried out by the staff of the hydrology department of the branch. The new stage in the development of the monitoring system will provide the population, as well as local and central executive authorities, with additional operational hydrometeorological information and storm warnings during the flood period.
