The dangerous situation persists

Due to the abnormal growth of ice formations on the Yessentai River (Kishi River basin in Almaty) caused by low air temperature, a relatively small ice mudflow formed on January 18, 2026. Due to the fact that most of the ice formations have been preserved in the Esentai riverbed and a large accumulation of water is observed, the threat of the re-formation of an ice mudflow remains.
