A press conference on "Ensuring a stable flood period" was held in Astana. Representatives of government agencies and relevant services took part in the discussion.
Among the speakers were First Vice Minister Nurlan Zhanuzakovich Aldamzharov, Chairman of the Committee on Regulation, Protection and Use of Water Resources Seylbek Sergazievich Nurymbetov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Asset Sansyzbaevich Kaliev, First Deputy General Director, took part on behalf of Kazhydromet.
In his speech, Asset Sansyzbaevich spoke about the current hydrometeorological situation in the country. He noted that as of today, the state of the snow cover, the depth of soil freezing and the water level on the rivers are constantly monitored. According to him, observations from meteorological stations make it possible to monitor changes in a timely manner and assess the development of the flood situation. Separately, he focused on the beginning of the flood and possible risks in different regions.
After the report, the speaker answered questions from journalists, explaining in more detail the current forecasts and the situation in the regions.
