On June 19, RSE Kazhydromet was visited by a delegation from the Ministry of Defense of the People's Republic of China. The visit took place within the framework of the Military Cooperation Plan for 2026 between Kazakhstan and China.
During the meeting, the guests were informed about the activities of the national Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan and the main directions of its work. Special attention was paid to the issues of hydrometeorological support and environmental monitoring.
Representatives of the Chinese delegation visited the environmental monitoring laboratory, where they got acquainted with the process of sampling and analyzing samples of water and atmospheric air. Kazhydromet specialists demonstrated modern laboratory equipment and talked about environmental quality control methods that are used in daily work.
The guests also visited the Hydrometeorological Center, where they got acquainted with the work of weather forecasters and operational duty services. The center's staff showed how round-the-clock weather conditions are monitored, data is collected and processed from weather stations, and weather forecasts and storm warnings are generated.
During the visit, the parties exchanged experiences and discussed issues of cooperation in the field of hydrometeorological support. The meeting participants noted the importance of international cooperation for the development of modern technologies for observing and forecasting weather conditions.
