A bilateral meeting was held in Urumqi between Danara Alimbayeva, Director General of "Kazhydromet" RSE, and Chen Zhenlin, Head of the Chinese Meteorological Administration.
The parties discussed the development of cooperation in the field of modern technologies, early warning and forecasting of dangerous weather events.
One of the key topics was the MAZU system. Kazhydromet is interested in its practical application in Kazakhstan, including for short-term forecasting, nowcasting and the use of artificial intelligence.
Special attention was paid to the use of Fengyun satellite data and expanding access to modern weather monitoring tools.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working in the designated areas and identified further practical steps.
