On 19–21 October 2026, the Regional Forum – Meeting of the Heads of Emergency Management Authorities of Central Asian Countries is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A representative of the RSE “Kazhydromet” took part in the event.

The forum included a regional dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperation among Central Asian countries in preventing and responding to large-scale and transboundary emergencies.

One of the key topics discussed was the development of a regional early warning system for hydrological disasters. The Kazhydromet representative took part in discussions on improving the exchange of hydrometeorological information between countries in the region, enhancing the monitoring of hazardous natural phenomena, and coordinating joint actions in response to potential threats that may affect the territories of several states.

An important part of this work is the preparation of a draft Protocol of Intentions aimed at developing the regional early warning system and establishing mechanisms for exchanging information on hazardous hydrometeorological phenomena. The document is intended to strengthen cooperation between national hydrometeorological services and provide a basis for joint efforts to address water-related risks.

Kazhydromet’s participation in the regional dialogue contributes to strengthening professional cooperation with the hydrometeorological services of neighbouring countries and developing common approaches to preventing hazardous natural phenomena.
