In 1914, the Yekaterinburg Observatory opened the volodarskoe weather station.
From the date of its Foundation until 1934, the weather station operated under the III category program, and from 1935 to the present time - under the II category program. The first head of the weather station since 1935 was vergun Maria Yakovlevna, a meteorologist at that time with great experience.
Initially, the station was located in the village of volodarsko On the shore of lake Saumalkol, 80 km East of the Ishim river (now R. Esil) North Kazakhstan region.
Unfortunately, information about transfers before 1935 has not been preserved. It is only known that the site was repeatedly moved until July 20, 1959, but the heights remained unchanged.
In the period from April to July 1961, the issue of allocating a land plot for the construction of a weather station on the pasture lands of the Komarovsky state farm, located North of the village of volodarskoe behind the railway line at a distance of 200-300 meters, was approved.
And in July 1961, the most important decree was issued prohibiting all state, public and other enterprises from building places located near the weather station at a distance of 150-200 meters.
On September 6, 1988, the weather station was moved to a new location, near the oil depot, after the 12:00 deadline. The building was brand new and was commissioned on the same day. And on September 8, after the deadline of 15:00, the weather station started submitting information.
Also, a significant event in the history of the station is the transfer of methodological guidance for weather stations in the North Kazakhstan region from the Akmola Hydrometeorology center on July 1, 1999.
In 2007, MS volodarskoe was renamed MS Saumalkol.
