This October brought a lot of surprises to the country's residents. The beginning of autumn did not please residents of many regions. So in the first decade of October, almost the entire territory of the Republic experienced a sharp cold snap, which was associated with the invasion of cold air masses from the Arctic seas and the Taimyr Peninsula. At night, the thermometer dropped to -6°C in the Northern, Central and Eastern regions, and to -2°C in the southern and South-Eastern regions. In the mountainous and foothill regions of the East and South-East, the first snow fell at all, the snow height was 01-15 cm, but in the middle of the month came the "Indian summer"called in the national calendar. The temperature background in the daytime was +19+21°C in the Northern half of the country, 7-10 degrees warmer than usual, in the southern half there was hot summer weather up to +25+27°C, 5-8 degrees warmer than usual. But at the beginning of the third decade, the first rehearsal of winter was held. A cyclone from the regions of Scandinavia, moving across the territory of our country, led to a decrease in the temperature background and snowfall. In the Northern regions, the air temperature dropped to -12°C at night. So, for example, in Nur-Sultan on October 24-25, heavy snow fell up to 15 mm, at the norm (27 mm per month), in the East Kazakhstan region, the amount of precipitation exceeded the monthly norm, for example, at the Ust-Kamenogorsk weather station, 68 mm fell at the norm per month (40 mm), which is 1.7 times higher than the norm, at the Semey weather station, 32 mm fell at the norm (21 mm), which exceeded the norm by 1.5 times.
In Nur-Sultan, the lowest air temperature (-9.4°) was on October 24, and the highest air temperature (+18.9°) was on October 03.
