Modern automatic weather stations are high-tech devices that minimize technical support and maintenance, which are able to work in any climatic conditions.
The AMC is a pre-configured, compact, reliable and easy-to-use system that provides quality-controlled data in weather systems.
AMS are used to increase the quantity and reliability of surface observation data. They achieve this by:
1) increase the density of the existing network by obtaining data from new locations and from places that are difficult to access or difficult to live in;
2) conducting observations at staff-operated stations during non-working hours;
3) improving the reliability of measurements through the use of sophisticated technology and new digital measurement methods;
4) ensuring the uniformity of networks by standardizing measurement methods;
5) meet the new requirements for observations and to meet the new requirements;
6) reduction of human error;
7) making measurements and presenting information at a high frequency or for a long time.
To date, 113 stand-alone AMS are installed on the network of RSE "Kazhydromet", which provide offline data collection and processing to the central data processing server.
