The National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan includes 47 hard-to-reach stations (TDS). TDS is a station that is located at a considerable distance from urban and rural settlements in difficult physical and geographical conditions and with which there is no regular transport connection. The TDS of the RSE "Kazhydromet" includes:
hydrological posts, meteorological stations, marine hydrological post, snow-avalanche station. Working at such facilities involves a lot of risk.
TDS is a separate observation unit and is organized in uninhabited, undeveloped areas with complex physical and geographical and severe climatic conditions, in unexplored or poorly studied areas in hydrometeorological terms in order to obtain information about the state of the environment, its pollution, to provide the needs of public authorities and the population with information about the state of the environment, its pollution.
