The area of the territory of Kazakhstan covered with snow, calculated by RSE "Kazhydromet" for the period of March 25 to April 04, 2021, according to NASA satellite images, decreased from 53 % to 40%.
According to the weekly synoptic forecast, at the beginning of the period, most of the country will be under the influence of an anticyclone spur with the center over Western Siberia, with which the weather is expected to be mostly without precipitation. The west and south of the republic will be affected by a series of cyclones from the regions of the European territory of Russia, which during the period, shifting in an easterly direction, will bring precipitation (rain, snow), in the south in some areas – heavy rain, as well as a gradual increase in air temperature, in connection with which, intensive snowmelt is expected in the flat part of the country and the formation of slope runoff in these regions.
