The forecast for the period of sowing operations, the "AgroData" application and the efficiency of using available data in agricultural production were discussed today during a live broadcast on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Director of the Department of Agrometeorological Monitoring and Forecasting of RSE "Kazhydromet" Nonna Loenko announced that according to forecasts, in 2021, the reserves of productive moisture in the soil before the start of spring field work in a number of regions are expected to be optimal.
"In particular, in the Akmola region in the Astrakhan, Atbasar, Yegindykol, Zerendinsky and Tselinograd districts, Kostanay region in the Beimbet Maylin, Sarykol and Kostanay districts, North Kazakhstan region in the Shal-Akyn districts, in some places in Zhumabayevsky, Timiryazevsky and Zhambyl districts, Karaganda region in some places in Bukhar-Zhyrau and in some places in Nurinsky district, East Kazakhstan region in Glubokovsky district and the Altai region. In the rest of the republic, the conditions of soil moisture supply are satisfactory, " the speaker said.
According to her, all these and other data are placed in the web application "AgroData", developed by the company and launched in October last year.
"On behalf of the head of the Ministry of Ecology, we have developed a web application for the farmer, now we are working on creating a mobile version of it. But even now, even from mobile phones, using the browser, you can get data from the app. I note that Kazhydromet is not only a weather forecast. A whole range of products aimed at ensuring the safety of the population, including food security, is being developed here, " Nonna Loenko stressed.
As the director of the department noted, most of the data presented in "AgroData" were previously available, but the information was placed in different sources. The new application allows you to get all the relevant information that the farmer is interested in in one application.
"This greatly simplifies access to data and allows farmers to use it more efficiently. We have tried to make the app as simple and intuitive as possible. All the information that is useful to the farmer, which Kazhydromet can prepare without resorting to additional calculations for a specific farm, can be seen in this application. This is the actual weather for the item with an update every 3 hours, and synoptic and agrometeorological forecasts, and actual data, " - said Nonna Loenko.
In addition, during the growing season, the sums of active and effective temperatures for the points of the state observation network and the moisture reserves in the soil are published, and during the cold season-information about the height of snow and the depth of freezing, which were not previously publicly available.
Thus, the timely and correct application of agricultural technologies based on the obtained data will allow farmers to plan the sowing campaign, prevent the death of plants, eliminating the impact of precipitation on the cultivated fields.
"Data on moisture reserves during spring field work play an important role in determining the optimal seeding rates for agricultural crops, choosing the depth of seed placement and applying fertilizers. All this ultimately affects the harvest, " the speaker concluded.
