RSE "Kazhydromet" issues monthly climate express bulletins, which assess the anomalies of the average monthly air temperature and the monthly amount of atmospheric precipitation on the territory of Kazakhstan.
For the preparation of the bulletin, the data of observations on the meteorological monitoring network of the RSE "Kazhydromet" are used: the series of average monthly air temperatures and monthly precipitation amounts in the period since 1941.
According to the temperature in July, a positive air temperature anomaly was observed in almost the entire territory of Kazakhstan. The most significant positive anomaly (3.4 °C) was observed at the Almaty OGMS weather station. Records of the maximum average monthly air temperature were set at weather stations: Aksuat (24.7 °C) in the East Kazakhstan region, Auyl-4 (27.7 °C) in Almaty region and Uyuk (29.2 °C) in Zhambyl region. Their previous records (24.2 °C, 27.6 °C, 28.8 °C) were recorded in 1974, 2005 and 2015, respectively.
According to precipitation in July, a significant precipitation deficit was observed in most of the territory of Kazakhstan – in the west, south-west, south, east and in some places in the northern regions, precipitation was less than 40% of the norm, in some places in the southern regions – less than 20% of the norm, or precipitation was not observed throughout the month. In some south-western, western, north-western and northern regions and in other separate regions of Kazakhstan, precipitation fell more than 120 % of the norm. In some places in the south-west, north - west and north, the amount of precipitation was more than 160 and even 200 % of the norm, so the conditions of July here are characterized as wet and extremely wet. In Aktau and Aktobe, a record amount of precipitation fell (52 and 150.4 mm), their previous records (45.5 and 136.9 mm) were recorded in 1995 and 1941.
