In connection with the spread of false information about the spraying of coronavirus infection in the air, RSE "Kazhydromet" makes a statement.
To begin with, it is worth noting that the state air quality monitoring network of Kazakhstan performs round-the-clock monitoring using 116 automatic stations (a 20-minute measurement interval).
Monitoring is carried out in three cities of republican significance, regional centers and in the regions of the country where mining, industrial, agricultural activities are developed.
The main air pollution occurs due to:
suspended particles PM-2.5, PM-10 (dust), nitrogen dioxide (increased concentrations are mainly associated with vehicle exhaust emissions)
sulfur dioxide (sources of hydrogen sulfide pollution are mainly industrial storage facilities, waste landfills, etc.)
carbon monoxide.
Thus, in regions where industry is developed, in addition to the main pollutants, excess amounts of hydrogen sulfide, phenols, and ozone are recorded in the atmospheric air.
Today, a high level of atmospheric air pollution is observed in the cities of Temirtau, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Atyrau, Aktobe, Nur-Sultan, Shymkent.
However, all of the above is in no way connected with the spraying of foreign (toxic or poisonous) substances into the air.
Thus, this refutes the rumor spread through social networks about the spraying of substances into the air, poisoning the population.
Recall, according to article 274 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, for the dissemination of deliberately false information, penalties in the form of fines, correctional labor, restrictions or imprisonment for up to seven years can be threatened.
