Published 20.09.2021 In the Aktobe region, the city of Shalkar, the installation of a Doppler meteorological radar (hereinafter - DMRL), manufactured by BARON Services Inc, USA, has begun.
Specialists of the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan, together with representatives of the American company BARON Services Inc, have started the installation of the third DMRL. This radar is installed in the city of Shalkar, Aktobe region.
Earlier, the installation of two DMRLS was completed in Taldykorgan, Almaty region and Torgay, Kostanay region. Currently, work is being carried out there on the commissioning and commissioning of the DMRL.
The DMRL is designed to detect and provide in real time, accurate information about the location and nature of the movement of zones of intense precipitation, thunderstorms, hail, squalls, turbulence zones, high wind speeds, etc.over large areas.
In 2018-2019, Kazhydromet purchased 5 DMRL produced in the USA. Тhree of them are manufactured by Enterprise Electronic Corporation and two by BARON Services Inc. Radar information, in addition to the data of the ground meteorological network, will make it possible to predict the weather for different periods of time-1-3 hours (naukasting) according to the data of one DMRL and up to one day according to the maps of a single radar field, adjust forecasts, develop storm warnings.
Taking into account the sharply continental nature of the climate of Kazakhstan, a detailed weather forecast for the coming hours is very popular on the territory of our republic, where frequent weather changes are observed.
As part of this project, the next DMRL will be installed in the city of Zhezkazgan, Karaganda region.
