25 Oct 2021 in the Russian Federation, took place on the 25th session of the coordinating Committee on Hydrometeorology of the Caspian sea (CASPCOM).
CASPCOM unites national meteorological and hydrological services (NMHSs) of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan with the aim of developing an integrated regional system of exchange of information on the status of the Caspian sea to ensure the safety and sustainable development of economic activities at sea (http://www.caspcom.com/).
The session was attended by representatives of the national meteorological and hydrological services of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of international organizations, local authorities, business circles, the scientific community, public organizations and organizations-consumers of hydrometeorological information.
During the 25th session of the Caspian Committee, questions were raised on the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Hydrometeorology of the Caspian Sea. As well as discussion of the implementation of the recommendations of the 24th Session of the CASPCOM.
The participants of the delegations noted that the results of the ongoing studies of the state and pollution of the marine environment of the Caspian Sea are actively used in the framework of cooperation between the Caspian Sea and the countries participating in the Tehran Convention, and called for the expansion of such cooperation.
