In the second decade of December in the south, south-east and west of the republic in the areas of cultivation of winter crops, the temperature background was everywhere above normal, precipitation fell about and below normal.
The past intense thaws in Almaty for 7 days, in Zhambyl for up to 5 days and in Turkestan regions for up to 2 days can affect the winter hardiness of poorly developed winter wheat crops (phase: seedlings - 3rd leaf). Snow cover is observed only in the vicinity of the Sarkand stations of the Almaty region, there is no snow in the rest of the south of the country.
In the West Kazakhstan region, in the areas of cultivation of winter grain crops, a stable snow cover with a height of 10 cm remains, which has a protective effect on plants.
The minimum soil temperature at the depth of the tillering node of winter wheat in the south is from 0 to minus 2C and in the south-east of the republic within minus 4 ... 5C.
The values of the air temperature anomaly were also positive in the range of plus 2...7 °C of heat throughout the territory of pasture livestock, precipitation was observed in the form of rain and snow.
