Published 20.05.2022 Since May 2022, RSE "Kazhydromet" has started publishing a daily bulletin of mudflow hazard of rain genesis. Earlier we reported that since 2022, the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan has restored the mudflow forecast service in its structure with the involvement of experienced specialists. The main task of the employees of this unit is to serve public administration bodies, organizations responsible for the safety of the population from the effects of natural hazards, as well as to notify the population and the media about the threat of mudflow hazard of rain genesis in mountainous areas of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. RSE "Kazhydromet", in the mudflow-prone period (from May to September), makes ultra-short-term forecasts of mudflows of rain genesis and gives storm warnings for the basins of the Kishi and Ulken rivers of Almaty (Ile Alatau), as well as consultations on the mudflow hazard of rain genesis for mudflow-prone areas of Kazakhstan.
