Published 26.05.2022 In the second decade of May, all grain-growing areas of the northern half of the republic started sowing spring grain crops after preliminary tillage (cultivation, treatment with herbicides, pesticides). The conditions for sowing were mostly satisfactory, precipitation, especially in the west of the country, somewhat replenished the moisture reserves of the soil.
In the early sowing of spring grain crops in the north, east and center of the country, the phase of "germination of grain" is marked – "formation of nodular roots", the condition of the plants is good.
In the southern regions of the country, moderately warm weather, in places with precipitation above normal, was favorable for the growth and development of spring grain crops. Spring wheat is in the phase of "germination of grain" – "tillering", spring barley has the phase of "shoots" - "appearance of the lower stem node", in early crops "earing" – "flowering", the condition is everywhere good.
In the southern regions, the sowing of thermophilic crops has mostly been completed, vegetative watering, loosening of row spacing, and the descent and discharge of water into rice checks have begun.
Potato planting continues in Almaty, Karaganda, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions, sunflower seed sowing continues in Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions, the quality of work is everywhere good. Sowing of oilseed flax is being completed in Kostanay and Aktobe regions.
