Published 30.05.2022 In 2022, the National Hydrometeorological Service of Kazakhstan turned 100 years old. During the year, Kazhydromet holds actions and events dedicated to the centennial anniversary, and in May the most pleasant part of the anniversary takes place – the awarding of honored employees of the Weather Service with badges "100 years of Kazhydromet". Among the awarded are veterans of the industry, people who have worked tirelessly in the hydrometeorological service for 30-40 years. Many of them have become experienced mentors and have brought up more than one generation of professionals in their field.
Aliya Shalabekova, Acting Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented the veterans with well–deserved medals at the celebration. By video link, the Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization – Petteri Taals and the President of WMO – Adrian Gerhard, as well as the heads of the hydrometeorological services of Turkey and the Russian Federation, expressed their wishes.
