Kazhydromet employees have been trained in Germany

On May 23-27, 2022, the ECO-ARAL Project conducted the next third module of the training program on geoinformation systems (GIS) and Earth observation, within the framework of which a study trip to Germany was organized with the participation of national partners from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. As we wrote earlier, the first two stages of training were held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and according to the results of the selection, specialists of Kazhydromet RSE - leading researcher Tursyn Tillakarim and leading meteorological engineer Tauke Kozike successfully passed the first two stages of training and in May went on a study trip to Germany.
The participants of the program got acquainted with the project activities of the Rainer Lemoine Institute (RLI) in Berlin, visited the village of Feldheim (Brandenburg state), which completely receives electricity and heat energy from renewable sources, visited the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK, Potsdam). Moreover, the participants attended the symposium "Living Planet 2022" / Living Planet Symposium 2022, which is one of the world's largest Earth observation conferences, various sessions dedicated to the latest world achievements in observing the environment, climate and other processes, received consultations from experts of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Esri and other experts on the use of GIS products.
This study trip was the final third stage of a series of trainings. As a result of the training program, participants will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in planning, decision-making, implementation of environmental and other projects based on GIS and Earth observation.
