In the northern half of the country, the condition of grain crops is mostly good, in some areas satisfactory. The phase of development of the "3rd leaf" is "exit into the tube", in early crops "the appearance of the lower stem node" is "earing". Everywhere, herbicides against weeds have begun to treat crops, and in some places they have begun to treat pesticides in order to combat pests and diseases.
In the southern regions, spring wheat has a phase of "appearance of the lower stem node" - "milk ripeness", in spring barley "milk" – "full ripeness". The condition of the plants is excellent and good, at the beginning of the past decade they started watering wheat and barley in the areas around Taldykorgan and Narynkol stations.
In the areas of winter wheat cultivation in Almaty, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, there were favorable conditions for flowering and full ripeness of grain. The precipitation that took place during the decade in the south-east of the country contributed to the preservation of moisture reserves in the soil.
