Published 05.07.2022 In general, there are more than 900 facilities in Kazakhstan in 15 regional branches on the balance sheet of RSE "Kazhydromet", including meteorological stations, hydrological posts, environmental monitoring stations, laboratories, aerological stations and administrative buildings.
Current and major repairs of facilities are carried out annually, taking into account the physical condition of buildings and financial capabilities of RSE "Kazhydromet". Urgent or emergency repairs are funded as a matter of priority, since the company's budget is limited.
In the period 2020-2021, more than 82 ongoing and restorative repairs of weather stations and hydro posts were carried out, 8 block-modular buildings were purchased, electricity was supplied to 4 facilities and water supply to 3 facilities. 4 metal towers for the installation of Doppler meteorological radars (DMRL) were built and put into operation. Major repairs of administrative buildings of Kostanay branch and Almaty branch were carried out. In 2022, a contract was signed for the overhaul of the administrative building of the Aktobe branch.
One of the problematic objects of RSE "Kazhydromet" is the office space of the meteorological station "Zhanatas". Since 2021, the building has been assessed as emergency. Based on the results of a commission inspection in February 2022, it was decided to move it to a new location, since the current location does not meet the requirements of the governing documents, and it is impractical to repair the building. Together with the Akimat of Zhanatas, a new land plot has been selected to accommodate a meteorological station and a mobile block module for station employees. The new block module is ready for transfer, confirmation of the location is expected. In April 2022, a letter was sent to the akimats of Zhambyl region and the city of Zhanatas on the allocation of a new land plot for the Zhanatas meteorological station.
According to the approved plan for the development of the observation network of 13 meteorological stations of the Zhambyl region, repairs have already been carried out at 3 stations (Taraz, Merke and Tole-bi) in 2021. In 2022, in general, work is planned at 48 meteorological stations and monitoring points for atmospheric air pollution in all branches of RSE "Kazhydromet" (current repairs, connection of water supply, heating repairs, gasification, electricity supply, etc.). Funds have also been allocated for the construction of 5 hydrological posts, power lines, and towers for the DMRL.
