Kazhydromet employees have completed the basic training course ICON

The ICON training course is an experimental numerical forecasting model used in foreign Weather Services. The developers of the program are a number of European countries with funding from the World Bank. The German Meteorological Service (DWD), in cooperation with the World Bank, is currently working on its adaptation for use in Central Asia. The experimental course is organized for specialists of hydrometeorological services of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. The training was also attended by representatives of the meteorological services of Romania and Israel, who currently use ICON in their work.
An intensive training was held on October 12-14. During the training, representatives of Asian countries took practical classes on placing the model in the cloud and visually studied its benefits and advantages. Basically, the training was conducted for "advanced" users who are already familiar with numerical weather forecasting models (for example, COSMO), and information technology specialists.
